FAQs

Painting Questions, Answered for Vancouver and Portland

What homeowners in Clark County and the Portland metro ask before they hire a painter. If yours is not here, call or text (360) 785-6225 and ask it, in English or Spanish.

Estimates and pricing

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. We come to the house, look at every surface, talk through colours and finishes and send a written proposal. No charge and no obligation. How the process runs.

How does the current offer work?

It is 10% off all qualifying jobs over $2,500. Mention it when you request your estimate, or at any point before the proposal is issued. If it applies to your job, it appears on your written estimate before any work begins. It is not automatic and it cannot be added after a proposal is issued or work has started. Full terms.

Do you give prices over the phone?

Ballparks, sometimes. Real prices only after we have seen the job, because two houses that sound the same on the phone can need very different prep. The proposal lists exactly what you are paying for.

Is there a referral reward?

Yes. When someone you refer has their project completed and paid in full, you receive $100. Nothing is paid at booking or estimate, only on completion. How the referral works.

Scheduling and weather

When can you paint the outside of a house in Vancouver or Portland?

Roughly May through September. The siding has to be dry, the daytime warm enough for the paint to cure and the nights above the product's minimum. September is often the best month. Summer slots book first, so for a July start, call in winter or spring. More on the season.

What happens on a rain day?

We do not paint in rain or onto wet surfaces. A rain day moves the schedule and we tell you the same day. In this climate that is part of every exterior job, and it is built into the timeline in your proposal.

Can you paint inside during winter?

Yes, and most interior work here happens between October and April. We ventilate the rooms we are in, use low-odour products and allow a little extra dry time for the damp air. Painting through the rain season.

How far ahead do I need to book?

Interior work and cabinets can often start within a few weeks. Exterior work in summer books months ahead. Estimates happen year round, so the proposal can be ready to go when the weather is.

Services

Is it worth refinishing cabinets instead of replacing them?

If the boxes and doors are solid, yes: a new look for a fraction of replacement cost and about a week of work. If the doors are peeling laminate or the boxes are water damaged, we will say so at the estimate. Cabinet refinishing.

Do you strip old paint?

Where it is failing, yes. Stripping is a step inside every interior and exterior job rather than a separate service: failing paint is taken back to a sound surface before anything new goes on, because new paint over peeling paint fails with it.

Should my deck be stained or painted?

Stained, almost always. Paint forms a film that peels off a wet deck floor; penetrating stain soaks in, shows the grain and wears gradually. Stains and clear coats.

Do you do commercial work?

Yes. Offices, retail, restaurants and multi-family in Vancouver and the Portland metro, scheduled around your hours. Commercial painting.

Licensing, insurance and guarantee

Are you licensed in Oregon as well as Washington?

Yes. Washington TALLPPP742JP, which you can check with Labor and Industries, and Oregon CCB #262594, which you can check with the Construction Contractors Board. Half our service area is in Oregon and the licence covers it.

Are you bonded and insured?

Yes, in both states. Certificates of insurance are available before work begins.

Is there a guarantee on the work?

A workmanship guarantee on every job we complete, written into your proposal. If something we did fails, we come back and fix it.

Language

Do you speak Spanish?

Sí. Se habla español. Jorge speaks Spanish, so the estimate, the proposal and every conversation about the job can happen in Spanish or English. Call or text (360) 785-6225.
