Painters for Southwest Washington and the Portland Metro

Based in Vancouver, WA and licensed on both sides of the Columbia River. Nine towns in Clark County, eight in the Oregon metro, one company and one standard of prep.

Where we work

Two states, one licence for each

Half of our service area is in Washington and half is in Oregon, and the company holds a contractor licence in both: Washington TALLPPP742JP and Oregon CCB #262594. A Portland homeowner looking at a Vancouver painter is right to ask whether we are licensed to work there. We are, and both numbers can be checked with the state in a minute.

The same job on both sides of the river

Clark County and the Portland metro share one climate: a long wet season from October to April, a short dry window for exterior work, cedar siding everywhere, moss and mildew on the north-facing walls, and summers that get hot enough to dry a coat of paint too fast if you paint in full sun. So the way we prep a house in Camas is the way we prep a house in Lake Oswego. Wash it, strip the failing paint back to a sound surface, caulk it, prime it, and paint it in the right conditions.

The towns around Vancouver, and what they usually need

Camas and Washougal sit at the mouth of the Gorge, with more cedar siding, more tree cover and the east wind, so staining and mildew treatment come up more than anywhere else in the county. Battle Ground, Brush Prairie and Ridgefield are mostly newer subdivisions on larger lots: fibre cement repaints, HOA colour approvals, and decks and fences that go grey in the open. La Center is a mix of older homes and new builds along the river. Hazel Dell and Salmon Creek are the ranches, split-levels and 1990s homes of unincorporated Clark County, where T1-11 siding and caulk lines are the usual prep. All of it is inside twenty-five minutes of our base in Vancouver.

The Oregon suburbs, and what they usually need

Tigard, Tualatin and Sherwood run from 1970s ranches to the newest subdivisions, with a lot of HOA-governed exteriors and oak kitchens ready for refinishing. West Linn and Lake Oswego have the metro's deepest tree cover, which means more shade, more moss on north walls, and a lot of cedar siding and decks that need staining on a shorter cycle. Clackamas is mostly ranches and split-levels on larger lots, with exteriors that get full sun on the south side and shade on the north, so the two walls age differently and the proposal treats them that way. Every one of these is covered under our Oregon licence, CCB #262594.

What changes between the two states is the paperwork, and we carry both sets. If your town is in the lists above, call or text (360) 785-6225, in English or Spanish, and we will set a time to look at the job.
